Tung's acupuncture uses acupoints, many of them unique and not found in the acupuncture system popularly taught and practiced today, to achieve miraculous, immediate results.Renowned as the most brilliant acupuncturist of the modern era, Master Tung Ching Chang practiced a style of acupuncture that was kept secret within the Tung family for three hundred years. Only after fleeing from persecution during the Cultural Revolution from mainland China to Taiwan did he start teaching this art to students outside of the family. Master Tung passed away in 1975 but the special acupuncture points he taught are now known as 'Miraculous Points'.

I use Tung's points in my practice. Tung's Acupuncture is rooted in a profound understanding of the energetics of the body. It allows me to needle only a few points to obtain powerful and immediate results. I studied Tung's points with Dr. Young Wei-Chieh, the foremost authority on the subject.

Seitai Shinpo is a system of acupuncture and moxibustion created by Dr. Sorimachi Daichi of Japan for realignment of body structures, especially the left-right balance of the shoulders and the hips. Structural realignment then restores the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems and the functioning of the internal organs. Seitai Shinpo, therefore, can promote the prevention and healing of all diseases. Amazingly, Seitai Shinpo's balancing effect on body structures is almost immediate. Results are usually seen within the first treatment session.

Electrotherapy is electrical stimulation of the energetic system of the body. It can be done non-invasively via pads attached to the skin or via inserted needles. It can also be done with special instruments that deliver calibrated low intensity impulses. Since the physiological processes of the body are essentially electrial, electrotherapy can be used for their regulation. I use electrical stimulation especially for pain, addiction, weight-loss and in cases where it is desirable to avoid needles.

Auricular acupuncture uses the ear to treat many kinds of problems. Its effectiveness in treating pain, whether it is headache, post-surgical or trauma, is well proven and documented in scientific and clinical studies. Auricular acupuncture also excels in areas of obesity, appetite control and addictions. Auriculotherapy may also be performed with electrical or laser stimulation instead of needles.

Is acupuncture painful?

Needling sensation is not separate from the skill of the acupuncturist and the constitution of the patient. In my practice acupuncture is not painful. I customize my tools and techniques to your sensitivity and constitution to ensure comfort and relaxation. For children and adults who are energy or needle sensitive I use FDA approved painless needles, non-penetrative techniques or other methods of stimulation without needles. I will make sure that your treatment is completely comfortable.

Chinese acupuncture earned its name in the western world as an effective treatment for pain. In fact, it works for a whole array of pathologies especially chronic conditions, GI and sleep disorders. Chinese medical classics say that acupuncture must be rooted in the spirit. That means in all treatments the psychological-emotional-spiritual components are always taken into consideration. It is beneficial not only for physical conditions but problems such as depression, anxiety and stress.
