Running Piglet and inguinal mass

Third century physician and medical theorist Zhang Zhong-Jing gave a description of Running Piglet in the Essentials from the Golden Cabinet, one of the most important classical treatises on the etiology and treatment of diseases. “Running Piglet disorder arises from the lower abdomen; it rushes up to the throat with such ferocity that the patient feels he is close to death, It attacks and then remits. It is brought about by fear and fright.” This is a description of how pent-up emotional energy is violently discharged from the groin and shoots upwards along the Conception Channel. It is a form of panic attack.

Panic Attack

Twenty seven year old female suffering from anxiety and sleep disturbance. Patient felt generally anxious and especially in social situations such as dinner gatherings when she would suddenly panic and felt she would throw up.

Treatment was a combination of bodywork and herbs using the formula Tian Wang Bu Xin Tang, "Heavenly Emperor's Tonifying the Heart Decoction'. Positive results were obtained within the the first week. Patient reported feeling much relaxed with improved sleep. Treatment continued once a week for six weeks. There was no recurrence of the social anxiety attacks.

Sciatica pain

Fifty year old female with chronic sciatica pain that radiated from her right buttock down to the posterior and lateral sides of the thigh. Pain was at 8/10. She cleaned offices for a living. The pain interfered with her work and sleep. She had seen three professionals about it but the pain had not improved.

One 'permanent' needle was inserted at the sciatica point of her right ear. She reported that her pain went down. She relaxed her guarding, turned and shook her body and a big smile came to her face.

She returned four weeks later with a pain level of 3/10. She reported that she was pain free for three weeks and was able to sleep after the first treatment.

The effectiveness of the single needle treatment was dramatic but expected. The long period of relief was a pleasant surprise.

Toe Pain

45 years old male patient with severe left big toe pain of 8-9/10. Patient was obese, diabetic and had hip replacements. He walked using crutches. He saw a physician regularly. Toe pain was chronic although there was no diagnosis of gout.
