Toe Pain

45 years old male patient with severe left big toe pain of 8-9/10. Patient was obese, diabetic and had hip replacements. He walked using crutches. He saw a physician regularly. Toe pain was chronic although there was no diagnosis of gout.

A scalp point reflecting the left toe on the right parietal area was manually stimulated and then needled. Patient reported that toe pain was subsiding. After resting for ten minutes while retaining the needle patient reported that pain had gone down to 3/10. Needle was withdrawn and a point half an inch away from the first point was needled. Patient reported that toe pain was gone. A treatment addressing constitutional issues was then given.
In this treatment active pain symptom was removed before addressing deeper, constitutional issues. Pain responds quickly to acupuncture. My goal is always to bring pain down to a level zero or one out of ten within the treatment session. Such effects, however, may not be permanent. Patient will need amore treatments to address the root constitutional problem for a resolution.
